So you need a shot. Congratulations. What? Youre not
sure you should be congratulated?
Well, nobody really likes injections. But we do everything we can to
make getting numb easier and more comfortable for you so your dentistry
can be painless.
Of course, there is the time-honored and very effective method of injecting
local anesthetics into your gum tissues using a dental syringe. The needles
used are incredibly sharp and thin and are even coated to make them glide
effortlessly into the tissue. We can really do this pretty comfortably.
But in many situations we use the newest high tech way of doing this.
Heres the story about (Ta-Ta)
Computer Controlled Anesthetic Injections - Another High Tech Dental
Miracle
Computer controlled anesthetic injections are another state-of- the-art
way for us to make your time in the chair more pleasant. Its one
of the latest in the astonishing growth of the technology of dentistry
as we head deeper into the 21st century.
With computer controlled anesthetic injections the injection of anesthetic
fluid into your tissues is controlled by a computerized drive unit which
reacts to the resistance of your tissues and adjusts the flow to maximize
your comfort.
We still have to know exactly where to place the injection and exactly
how to make it go where it belongs, but we dont have to push a plunger
anymore. The computerized drive unit does that for us. Gone is that big,
ugly, bulky metal syringe. Its replaced by a light-weight, pencil-shaped
handpiece we hold like a pen. Its much easer to control and handle.
The actual device is called The Wand. With The Wand, anesthetic
injections are much more comfortable than ever before.
And heres an extra bonus: new injection sites are made possible
by The Wands controlled flow and pressure. We will often be able
to numb your teeth without creating the dead lips and tongue you dislike
so much. You will be able talk, eat and speak just as if you did not have
any anesthetic. WOW!
When you hear The Wand beeping as we inject, you will know that you are
on the receiving end of the best in dental care.
