You want to be a smart patient, right? Of course, right! So here’s
the library so far. Click and learn. Settle (win) arguments with your
friends. Start your own game of “Dental Trivial Pursuit”.
We are always adding to and updating the Library. It’s always
a work in progress. Let us know what you’d like to have here.
- DIAGNOdent (Wow! Laser
detection of decay)
- Air Abrasion (no-shot, no-drill fillings–sometimes)
- Amalgam (you know, those old fashioned “silver” fillings)
- Anesthesia (yup, this means shots). What’s new in this category?
- Bleaching (whiter smiles through chemistry)
- Bacterial Plaque (the enemy of teeth and gums)
- Bruxism (Do you clench or grind your teeth? Oww!)
- Temporomandibular disorders (ok, fancy for “TMJ”)
- Fillings of Composite Resin and Porcelain (strong bonded repairs
that look like real teeth)
- Crowns (dentist-speak for caps)
- Implants (man-made roots for the ones you lost somehow)
- Bridges (Replacement teeth. Some you don’t take out, some
you do)
- Snap-On Smiles (This can save the day in a time crunch or if we need to preview a major change)
- Fluoride (the good, the bad and the ugly)
- Gum disease (your teeth are ok but your gums have
to come out? Maybe not.)
- Oral health and your heart (critical info that
might save your life)
- Porcelain veneers (incredibly beautiful and natural
smiles in a couple of visits)
- Root canal therapy (forget what you’ve heard, this is easy)
- The Pulp (sensitivity, toothaches, and things
that go “ouch” in
the night)
- Tools for oral hygiene – Toothbrushes, floss and special rubber
tips (you only
need to know six things)
